![]() The SeraphimGlobal fundraiser, 'Used and Discarded' at Jin Lounge in D.C. really went well, artist and my new friend Christine Walters performed and painted before a captivated audience and I was honored to have Christine paint her abstract interpretation of my story of being a trafficked child. Her fabulous art was raffled that very night and D.J. Heather Femia was the lucky winner of the piece. The entire evening and Christine's performance went too fast for me, watching her live out my life on stage as she painted was an experience that I will never forget. I believe that art has the ability to empower, educate and illuminate. And that night the audience at Jin watched and learned about the trauma of trafficking at the fundraiser, as they were empowered by the raw beauty of Christine's art. Marcus Bennett of D.C. Hot Spots reported and photographed the entire event, and has photos on facebook. I have photos of the night on my facebook page as well.
